Ron Attends Kilig Cafe

It’s been three days since this lovely event was held, and it’s taken me a bit to blog about it because 1. Work, and 2. It took me some time to upload the YouTube videos of the livereadings, which are a signature Romance Class thing by now. But I’ve got some time now and I can write about what I remember!

And what I remember is that it was fun, and it actually felt like a community! And not just the Romance Class community, because there were other groups there as well. If you want an excellent rundown of all the people that made the event possible, check out Mina V. Esguerra’s blog post, where she does exactly that.

I spent most of the day seated with Angeli Dumatol, whose latest work Step One was live read at the event. I had a lot of fun manning Doc Angeli’s table with her, as well as updating her on some of the tsismis that she’s missed out on.

However, I did start out Kilig Cafe ranting about Wuthering Heights, because Ana Tejano said she read my blog post, and what I found out is that I still have a lot of ~feelings~ about that film. I thought I was over it, but apparently not!

Aside from the company of my Romance Class friends, there were also a lot of new things that I enjoyed during the event, particularly the Versusan that I think was organized by Guilty Reads. It got pretty intense near the end! People were dropping money.

Check out some pictures I took during the event!

But wait, there’s more! I also took videos of the live readings, and you can watch them below!

I thought I had pressed record, but it turns out that I hadn’t, so I missed about two minutes of this live reading.

If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
