Ron Watches One Piece (Live Action) Season 2 Episode 4

The previous episode left us with a cliffhanger as Miss All Sunday made sure everyone knew she was onboard the Going Merry. Let’s see what she does in this episode!

Miss Wednesday/Vivi immediately catches up with the Straw Hats on who Miss all Sunday is. She’s Baroque Works’ second-in-command, and she’s vicious. But she’s not here to kick butt, even if she so easily disarmed the rest of the Straw Hats. She’s offering them an Eternal Pose to draw them away from Little Garden, the next island they’re headed to, which, of course, just means that they should head to Little Garden. She tells the Straw Hats that taking in Vivi has put a target on their backs, and Vivi is feeling the guilt over that, so she offers to find her own way to Alabasta once they get to Little Garden.

Once they finally get to Little Garden, Vivi finds herself stuck with them, as it doesn’t look like there are any other people on the island. Zoro and Sanji make a bet about dinner, but I’m distracted by how close they are to each other. Just a little push and they’d be kissing. Just saying! I don’t know how to take a screenshot on Netflix, but anyone who’s seen that screencap on social media knows what I’m talking about.

Once they’re on land, the crew immediately splits up, although it’s not because they want to. As we’ve already seen from the first season and the previous episodes, the Straw Hats don’t have rules so much as guidelines. Circumstances keep splitting them up until they’re conveniently in pairs: Luffy/Vivi, Zoro/Sanji, and Nami/Usopp.

Both Luffy/Vivi and Zoro/Sanji run into a dinosaur, while Nami and Usopp were going to have a talk about going on an adventure, but that conversation’s parked because a literal giant walks up to them, and the show implies that Nami and Usopp are about to be lunch.

Luffy and Vivi are not going to be lunch, as the dinosaurs they’ve encountered are herbivores. In fact, they’re riding one thanks to Luffy, and their time atop allows Luffy and Vivi to bond a bit. Elsewhere, Zoro and Sanji bring down a dinosaur that could be lunch, while being all flirty with each other. However, Zoro is drawn away by a noise, which I guess is another Baroque Works assassin because whoever they are painted a symbol on Zoro that seems to have a magical effect on him.

Thanks to Luffy’s nose, he and Vivi now meet another giant, not the same one that Nami and Usopp encountered. Nami and Usopp haven’t been turned into lunch…yet. Nami tells Usopp to distract the giant while she figures out a way to get out of there, and it turns out that the giant is starved…for conversation. He doesn’t eat people! And with Nami and Usopp, now he can talk to someone.

Nami and Usopp making friends with a giant couldn’t have come at a better time, as Miss Valentine and Mister 5 have just arrived at Little Garden. They’re a little more desperate now, after Mister 9 made them realize that Mister 0 could have sent someone to kill them, since they failed to catch Vivi. And it looks like he did send someone, specifically Mister 3 and his currently unnamed partner. There’s a tense moment when Mister 3 tells them that he could kill them for failing their mission, before he gives them the option of getting rid of the two giants on the island that the Straw Hats have become friendly with. Because yes, the other giant that Vivi and Luffy met is just as friendly as the one Nami and Usopp met.

Dorry, the giant that Vivi and Luffy met, even helps Vivi pay her respects to Igaram for everything he’s done for her. Meanwhile, Brogy, the one Nami and Usopp met, tells them all about the giant home country of Elbaph. However, it turns out that Dorry and Brogy have a long-standing conflict, or at least a long-standing fighting appointment because neither one of them remembers why they’re even fighting. They’re just doing it now for the love of the game!

As Nami and Usopp head out to watch the giants fight, Nami gets hit by the same assassin — I am assuming this is Mister 3’s partner — and now she’s under some sort of magical spell too. Zoro, who was hit earlier, has spent the time cutting pomegranates in half, and now he hasn’t noticed that Miss Valentine has just landed right behind him. I know he doesn’t die because he hasn’t been shirtless like has been shown on social media, and also you don’t hire Mackenyu to kill him off this early. But how is he going to get his ass kicked, I wonder?

Or maybe he doesn’t get his ass kicked, because Miss Valentine also arrives to literally fetch Nami, after Luffy and Vivi are distracted by Mister 5 tampering with the ale involved in the giant fight, resulting in Dorry triumphing over Brogy, despite it not being a fair fight. But his death does what it’s supposed to do — push Usopp to be braver than he is.

And Usopp is really going to need to step up, as Miss Goldenweek, Mister 3’s partner, has gotten to Luffy and ~incapacitated~ him. One by one, the Straw Hats are being ~incapacitated~. Vivi’s caught by Mister 5, while Mister 3 has turned Dorry into his next ~work of art~. How are the Straw Hat’s going to get out of this one?
