It’s the final episode! I gotta say, I really enjoyed this show so much I even followed all of the guys on social media. I don’t know what’s happening in this episode and I can’t tell what happened from social media but I hope everyone gets the ending they wanted!
In the previous episode, we saw Ikuo shoot his shot at Dai, despite knowing that he and Shun are very definitely an item. You in danger Ikuo.
Dai lets him down easy, telling him that while he did find him attractive when he first arrived at the house, he’s just more comfortable with Shun despite how it looks to the rest of the group. He does the “It’s not you” thing on Ikuo but in an actual sincere way and not some asshole Nice Guy™ way.
Back at the Green Room, they’re told that they only have three days left. Kazuto is tasked with manning the coffee truck this time around and Ryota already has that look in his eye. Alas, Kazuto picks Alan. Give it up, Ryota. GENSEI WAS RIGHT THERE.
Ryota’s made a lunch box for them though, and it’s sweet and all but COME ON MAN. You misinterpret when someone’s into you and you also can’t get it when you’re very clearly being rejected!
Kazuto and Alan aren’t stupid, though, and knows that Ryota is trying to talk to Kazuto about his feelings. But let’s get back to that later because Kazuto is talking about his feelings with Alan and how much he’s grown since they’ve met each other. But while Alan is special to him, it just takes a little longer for Kazuto to fall in love with someone. Which I totally get! In my head, it’s not a total rejection, it’s more of an “Maybe if you can wait this may become something more.”
While I think that’s fair on Kazuto’s part, I also think Alan is totally valid in crying over it. It’s just that they move at a different pace when it comes to life and love! That doesn’t mean there’s no feelings there! They just need to find a balance!
However, the panel does show me that this can also be read as a rejection, because if Kazuto wanted to, he could have just let those feelings grow over time but he told Alan that I’m thankful you’ve helped me grow while we’re in the Green Room. Damnnnnn.
It’s the coffee truck’s last day and Shun is up to work on it. AND OF COURSE HE PICKS DAI LIKE IS THIS EVEN A SURPRISE. I did like Taeheon — I think it was Taeheon — teasing the two of them as they left by telling them not to argue.
Shun and Dai talk about how living in the Green Room has changed them, and Shun says he’s become more open-minded and less judgmental when it comes to people’s appearances. And I don’t think he means just the physical appearance but the whole vibe of a person.
AND THEN THE WHOLE GANG SHOWS UP. And it’s all Ikuo’s idea which is sweet! And me being the money-hungry pewr person I expect the earnings to be through the roof. I can’t take the fucking funeral music they’ve got playing though don’t make me sad that they’re going to be leaving.
The guys get their last message — there’s going to be a special last dinner at the house and they should dress up. We get a dressing up montage and honey. Turn this into a harem anime or something. Then a Hummer limo arrives with champagne and stuff! Damn.
They’re having dinner at what looks like a fancy place and they look like a group of manga heroes or something. Like the top boys at the school or rich executives or something! But it’s also so sad because it’s very clearly a goodbye and oh god no.
We get this sad montage of the guys packing up as the last day finally arrives and they have their last time in the living room. Taeheon is up first to leave and he tells them that his time in the house has given him the strength to tell his parents that he’s gay and oh god fuck I’m crying I still have to go to work fuckkkk.
Ikuo’s up next and Jesus Christ can’t they all just leave at the samew time? This is too heartbreaking! Anyways, Ikuo says he’ll keep doing his best in romance and soul-searching and just like Taeheon he gets the individual hugs from all the boys and I can’t take it. I didn’t even get too into Ikuo in this show!
Ryota’s up next and he’s shooting his very last shot at Kazuto and asks to speak to him alone. He asks Kazuto if it would be okay if the two of them leave the house together. Unfortunately, it really isn’t meant to be and fuckkkk. God damn. I mean at least Kazuto’s nice about it and Ryota seems cool about it but still. Fuckkkk. And then they show Ryota fucking bawling in front of the coffee truck before he fully leaves and fuckkkk. Awww shit this is so heartbreaking.
Shun asks Dai to come out with him and Alan and Kazuto are pretty sure that the two of them aren’t coming back because they’ll definitely be leaving together. And the do. Well at least we get two people who are leaving happy!
Shun and Dai head to the beach and Shun explains his complicated feelings. Like…I don’t think Shun is a bad person. It’s just that he’s too complicated for me, especially in my advanced eldritch age. But if he and Dai make it work then what’s the problem! I mean I’m just as kilig as the rest of the ShunDai shippers when they tell each other they’re in love so who the fuck am I kidding?
Alan and Kazuto are the last pair in the house and Kazuto is underscoring that Alan is very special to him and that he doesn’t want their relationship to end in the Green Room and he’s asking him if they could build on their relationship by making memories together and he ask him if they could leave the house together and FUCKKK THANK GOD. The leave the house holding hands and I’m like doing seal claps all by myself here at home.
This was a great season and if there’s going to be another one of this I am going to be first to watch, that’s for sure!
