Ron Watches RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 6 Episode 3

It’s the third episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and so far, no one has been sent home conventionally. Will this episode change that? Let’s see!

Like I said, no one’s been sent home conventionally, although Saki Yew did have to bow out in the previous episode because of an injury. And Lil won a three-way lip sync between her, Chanel, and Marmalade.

That doesn’t bother Chanel though, even if she did ~make the outfit~ because she’d rather it go to Lil than Marmalade. Which is a crazy thing to say right in front of your opponent because you’re just stirring the pot. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great TV! But you still have to work with these people!

And she doesn’t stop with Chanel either! After Zahirah gets in a playful jab about Chanel’s lip sync skills, Chanel says she’s the reason Lil was even in the top, and of course Lil objects to that. Then Chanel rounds on Marmalade again saying that Marmalade probably only did 10 percent. My god.

The girls are all abuzz talking about the big bad Chanel and then there’s this delicious moment of Marmalade talking about Chanel without knowing Chanel is right there. Marmalade even runs out of the Werk Room. Great television.

The next morning, Marmalade lays out her argument and explains her emotions and Chanel responds, essentially, with “Oh that’s not me that’s the competition speaking.” Girl. She does apologize though!

And then after all of that Ru comes in and tells them that the mini challenge is telling the other queens what you really think of them. THE TRIXIE MATTEL CACKLE I LET OUT.

It’s not quite the airing out I expected though, just the queens assigning “weakest competitor” and the like. Zahirah gets called perky and basic, Charra’s labeled as the weakest competitor, Kyran the strongest, and La Voix as the one with the biggest ego. So there!

This week’s Maxi Challenge is an acting challenge spoofing the British rom-com and Charra and Zahirah are the two team leaders. Zahira’s team is doing Hate, Actually while Charra’s team is doing 40 Funerals and a Wedding.

The queens start shooting and Lil fucks up the line so much it actually ends up being funny. And Kyran going post-verbal??? I don’t know that grunting really did it for me!

Charra’s team is next and Dita puts in a next level bad performance while they’re shooting that I ended up doing the Trixie laugh again.

We get our learning moments this episode from Dita, who is a queer person who really only got to terms with their non-binary identity later in their life. Literally, as in only during the COVID-19 lockdowns. We also get to hear about Zahirah’s supportive Filipino dad, who told her that if they stayed in the Philippines he would have entered her in all of the pageants. And considering Maxie just won Drag Race Philippines, supportive Filipino dads really are having a moment!

The runway theme is New Romantics and generally, the queens look great but Zahirah does look a little basic compared to the other queens. And I don’t want to sound like I’m picking on her because that’s my Filipina cousin but when you do line them up…that’s what it looks like. For sure, there’s an economic story behind it and Zahirah’s doing what she can with what she has so I can’t wait to see what she can do when the funds are rolling in.

The queens’ trailers debut and I liked Zahiran’s group’s trailer! It comes with the requisite Drag Race corniness but all in all I think it was funny! And to be frank, so was the second one!

Lil, Le Voix, Chanel, Actavia, Charra are the safe girls this episode! From the critiques, it looks like Dita and Kiki are in the bottom, while it looks like it’s either going to be Rileasa or Marmalade in the top. I don’t think they’re going to give Kyran two badges this early.

Back in the Werk Room, Dita starts some shit when she shades Zahirah and Kyran isn’t having it. Dita walks out-ish? She moves to a table. And then she apologizes and says it’s the anniversary of her mom’s death I AM TRIXIE MATTEL CACKLING.

I mean, it’s horrible, but just the timing of it! Get into a sorta fight and then say It’s the anniversary of my mom’s death! It’s so ridiculously timed!

Anyways, Kyran Thrax gets a second badge! Guess I was wrong, they were ready to give him that badge this early! Dita and Kiki battle it out and I gotta say, Kiki was just more magnetic in this one!
