I’m back with episode two! I liked the first episode and I think it laid a good foundation that the series can build on as it moves forward. The question is will it successfully do that?
At the end of the first episode, Theo and Jane not only get over their initial mistrust of one another, they also successfully accomplish the second task, with a little leg humping included just to add a little spice to the proceedings. Jane’s the one humping the leg, by the way.
For the second task, the two of them travel magically to the Pacific Northwest, where Theo continues to learn more about Jane. Theo wants to join the Black Ravens because that’s what his family has done for generations, while Jane is hoping to change the system from within once she becomes part of the group. And I know this might come off negatively because the creator of the original franchise turned out to be vile all along, but this all sounds like a Death Eater!Draco whose finding the path to good thanks to a determined and principled Hermione.
The second task, however, is considerably harder than the first. When Theo ends up wounded because of the task and they only have one sleeping bag to recuperate in…well, things happen.
I’m being a broken record at this point, but I really do want to commend the production value for this project. The sound effects during the chimera battle? As well as the other…ummm…sound effects? So good to listen to and will definitely embarrass you (in a good way!) when you listen to it in public like I did. Although there was one point where the sound kind of changes after the test at the magical clearing, I ‘m not sure if that was something that was wrong with the recording or it was just my internet connection. Everything returned to normal after a bit so I’m choosing to believe that it was my internet connection because I haven’t listened to it again.
I do have another thing to say about the actual trial itself. I know that this is audio erotica and that the magical trial elements of it aren’t as important as the erotica part of the equation, but I do like the magical elements they put in and I wish they had more of it? But again, Quinn isn’t an audio fantasy app, it’s an audio erotica app, so this is more of a me problem than a problem with the story or the app.
Because the erotica part of it? I mean, it’s a little PG-13 went compared to some of the other stuff on Quinn that isn’t voiced by a Hollywood actor but what we do get? Baby. Baby. Somewhere in there is audio of Jamie Campbell Bower ripping leggings and girl. When he tells you that you’re so ready for him? When his breath hitches? Like…worth every penny I paid.
