Ron Watches Are You Sure? Season 2 Episode 5

Let’s get it out of the way immediately: The previous episode saw Jimin sniff Jungkook’s armpit on that ferry. We’ve gotten that out of the way now. Let’s get into this new episode!

The boys arrived at Lake Brienz at the end of the previous episode, and now the two of them are in literally matching black outfits as they walk towards…a hot tug? Which is a floating boat combined with a hot tub. This is some rich motherfucker bullshit, lemme tell you. Or at least it sounds rich to me as someone from the ~Global South~. For all I know this is an affordable thing in Switzerland.

And maybe it isn’t a fancy thing in Switzerland, because as they go aboard it and start moving around the lake, it doesn’t seem as fancy. I don’t know about getting aboard it though because just looking at it now makes me feel like I’m sinking into the water? I’ve become paranoid and fearful in my old age, sorry!

The boys crack open some beers and I know every adult drinker can chug one but I just don’t know how people who drink beer do it! I don’t drink beer if I can avoid it, and when I do I just take sips. I really can’t chug it! We move on from that though, as the boys have decided to forsake the warmth of the hot tug to jump into the cold lake. However, poor Jimin gets tricked and jumps into the water by himself. This is like the second time I’ve seen you get tricked like this, Jimin.

He even falls back into the lake BY HIMSELF. Jimin. Babe. What are you doing. The two of them eventually jump into the cold lake together after Jungkook is persuaded by the staff with pork belly. I mean, that is a pretty persuasive tool. The guys also swim around a little even without being persuaded with pork belly, and I kinda wish I knew how to screencap Disney+ because some of the shots are hilarious.

When they finally decide to head back to the dock, the boys are a little confused as to where exactly the dock is, but thankfully the crew radio them and tell them to head to where the big ferry is, the same one that they were making jokes about as they pretended to be in Prates of the Caribbean. We also find out that the production put out money for this because the hot tug doesn’t operate during the time they were there, but they still got to do it. Oh, the things money can do.

They eventually get back to the dock, and are immediately told that they’re going to be playing a game, which this time around is guessing how much everything they ate on the hot tug cost. If they get the right amount, they get double that amount added to their allowance. If they get it wrong, they get that amount deducted from their allowance. AND THEY GET IT WITHIN THE TWO FRANC MARGIN OF ERROR. DAMN, CAN THEY KEEP TRACK OF MY EXPENSES TOO.

With allowance and a pork belly dinner waiting, the two of them move into their new lodgings, which are of course nice. The way they are now, I don’t think a hostel would be in the cards for them, especially with mobile phones being everywhere now. They immediately start preparing dinner when they find the pork belly in the ref, and we are also reminded once again that Jimin doesn’t know how to cook rice without a rice cooker. And as per usual, when Jungkook really gets into the cooking, I start getting hungry. That pork belly is looking good. And you know what? I gave in and ordered takeout. I’m sorry, I’m weak!

Jungkook is up early the next day, while Jimin is dealing with his voice as he kept screaming the day before. The prize for the game today is getting a free day or sticking to the schedule, and Jungkook figures out that if they win a free day, the staff will be taking their phones. They need to get seven answers right in a two-minute game of charades, and are unfortunately unsuccessful. Jimin looked cute throughout the game though, so there’s that!

AND THEN THEY DO JIN’S DOJEON RULE AND GET ANOTHER ROUND. And this time around, they get seven answers right, with the extra bonus of Jimin looking extra funny trying to act out an ostrich. Remember when there was a random ostrich running around in Quezon City?

They win a free day, but the guys tell the crew that they’ll decide if they’re going to use it after they get to their destination for today and after looking for other points of interest in Brienz. After a scenic drive, they arrive at a burger place and the cute face that Jimin pulls when he whispers to Jungkook that they still have CHF100 left? I wish I knew how to screencap on Disney+!

AND THEN IT TURNS OUT SOME OF THE WAIT STAFF AT THE BURGER PLACE ARE ARMY! ALSO WE GET TO SEE JUNGKOOK EDIT A RIDICULOUS PHOTO OF JIMIN ONTO A DUCK AND I LAUGHED OUT LOUD? THAT WAS A WORK OF ART? Also, it’s a good thing I ordered takeout because now I’m full and aren’t as hungry looking at them eat. They also get free donuts from the establishment, which I think is thanks to the ARMY on the staff.

After their lunch, it’s the bird in the park who get to eat after as Jungkook and Jimin decide to burn off all the food they ate that way. They then drive off to their next destination, which is a canyon swing with a height of 90 meters and a speed of 120 km/h. I would have soiled myself. Jungkook has a mission as well — read a word that the staff will flash as he jumps, and if he gets it right, Jimin won’t have to do the canyon swing and a member of the staff will do it instead. And he gets it right! If I were to describe that jump, I’d simply say pants-soiling. Jungkook, being the adrenaline junkie that he is, goes on the swing one more time.

On the way back, Jimin plays sentimental songs on the car radio, and the two take it as an opportunity to do a bit about leaving video messages. I think it was supposed to be lighthearted, but when Jungkook started talking about Bam being sick so often I started worrying. Not Bam! And then Jimin starts talking about his dead puppy and now I’m sad.

It also reminded me of Jin’s song Tonight.

Back in Brienz, they buy some ice cream, and then Jungkook has to get into the lake, since he said that he’d go in if he had a rash guard on and slippers. And since they need material to edit, the crew goes and gets those things, so now Jungkook has to keep his word. He and Jimin also threaten a swan and the ensuing confrontation is hilarious because who would have thought?
