Is anything going to top that swan confrontation from the previous episode? Let’s see!
The guys are back at their lodging after the swan encounter, and they go back to a fridge that is fully stocked. Jimin insists that he be the one to cook this time around, and that doesn’t fill me with a lot of confidence, considering what happened with his potato pancake. And right from the jump he uses a literal glass to count out the rice he’s cooking. Like. Babe. What are we doing?
Jimin continues to grapple with the rice as Jungkook weaves in and out of the kitchen with his sleeve tattoo exposed. As the cooking progresses, it does look like Jimin is moving along. He doesn’t look as skilled or as confident as Jungkook, but he looks a lot more competent than when he was making that potato pancake. A staff member did step in to save the rice, but all in all, Jimin is doing better than I thought he would!
Eventually, Jungkook walks back in because the big bunny is hungry, and he likes Jimin’s cooking. The stew is a bit bland for his taste, but it’s nothing a little salt can’t fix. They also get to try some coconut water and I am a little miffed that our government has dropped the ball when it comes to coconut water because we’ve got a fucking coconut song and everything but it’s Indonesia that gets to export it? What the fuck?
ANYWAYS. Back to the situation at hand. The staff is tempting them with Korean food to see if they can get them to play games and spend even more time without their phones, but Jungkook is cooking the rest of the pork belly to see if they’ll be tempted. Unfortunately, Jimin has already added another hour of their digital minimalism time just to get kimchi.
After dinner, the guys play another game to win CHF150, which is a lot of money, especially if you convert it to my ~filthy Global South~ money. The two of them are going to play two games, the first of which is a blind taste test where they can win CHF50. And wouldn’t you know it, both Jimin and I have unsophisticated palates because he couldn’t figure out what flavor the potato chips handed to him were. Surprisingly, Jungkook couldn’t identify lemongrass either. I for sure thought he would because he’s also a cook. The staff gives them another chance to win the CHF50, but unfortunately, Jimin couldn’t identify the Jack Daniels chocolate. It was funny seeing Jungkook’s eyes bug out when Jimin spat out the chocolate though! BUT THEN, they get another chance and the staff have mercy on them and lets them win.
The next game is Silent Scream and what can I say, you all. That first word was practically another Lachimolala moment for Jimin.
Fortunately, Jungkook performs better and they add another CHF100 to spend once they arrive in Zurich for their free day. The staff then ask if they want a taste of digital minimalism, resulting in their phones getting taken away and forcing them to play a word game that provides the show with additional footage. Good thinking on the part of the production!
The boys eventually get their phones back and eventually fall asleep, and the next day we get this cute selection of videos showing them sleeping in the same positions on the bed. They need to hurry and wake up though, because they need to catch a train to Zurich, where they can do whatever they want, have dinner, and then have a night walk. They make it to the train in time, and while Jungkook says it was hectic getting there, at least they didn’t have to run like they did back in episode two.
Once they arrive in Zurich, the boys find themselves in a bind as they don’t know what to do without a schedule. It also doesn’t help that it looks like Zurich is an expensive city, even for pop stars, but they do eventually find a restaurant that’s just a minute’s walk from where they are. They meal they have is already CHF100, and my goodness, even if I love all that they’ve shown of Switzerland these episodes, I don’t think I can afford it? As much as the guys complain about the expense, they can still afford it, because Jimin suggests going to a two-star Michelin restaurant for dinner.
And it looks like they don’t need to go far to get to that restaurant, as the hotel they’re staying in is where the Michelin-starred restaurant is located. I’ve checked out the hotel online and…well, it’s expensive. But it looks like it’s worth it once the guys arrive, because that view is beautiful.
We then sorta get a timeline of when this was filmed, as the guys reveal that they’re heading to the United States on July 6 to work on the new album. And I’m sure we all remember that WeLive! They arrive at the Michelin-starred restaurant and after some funny interactions with the waiter and each other, the food finally arrives. And you know what? It really does look like it’s worth the price! I wish I knew how to screenshot on Disney+ because the food they have on the table looks delicious.
After that, they drive off to yet another restaurant, but not before taking some aesthetic photos on a bridge. Jungkook really is so skilled at a lot of things because those cellphone pictures shouldn’t be looking that good. But I guess they’re not heading to a restaurant, because they head to a photo spot, and then back to the hotel. I may have missed something because the past few days have been hectic and I’m watching this three episodes behind and early in the morning over here in the ~Global South~. I haven’t even had breakfast yet!
We then get to see a behind-the-scenes look at Jimin’s “Killin’ It Girl” dance challenge, with Jungkook lying flat on the floor to take the video. The things they do for Hobi.
Stream it on YouTube as well!
They spend their final night in Switzerland and then head to the airport the next day, where they find out that their next destination is…South Korea? But it’s just a stop on the way to their real destination, which is…still a mystery. At least to me who’s still catching up!
If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
