Ron Watches Dare You to Death Episode 2

We got to know the Jade and Kamin, the characters that Joong and Dunk play in this show, in the previous episode. Let’s see what happens now!

We start of the episode with Tar contemplating the card he received from Champ in the previous episode. Tar confronts him about it, but from what little we were shown, it seems like Champ doesn’t know about the card either? Interesting.

At the police station, we find out that there were drugs in the drinks at the party, and traces of it were found on the bottle and the glasses where the kids drank from. So why did only one person die then? Anyways, Jade asks a subordinate to look into Tar, as well as other drug dealers in the area. So who was the one they arrested in the previous episode then? I thought that was the guy they wanted?

We’ll have to get back to that later, as the guys have been told that they autopsy on the body has now been completed and they can check out the results. It turns out that the girl died because of three chemicals used on death row inmates found in her body, which caused a heart attack. The autopsy also shows that someone injected her with those chemicals, so this is definitely a murder and not an accident. We also find out that contrary to the story the kids were telling in the first episode, it was a woman, not a man, that called the ambulance.

Elsewhere in the city, the kids involved in the incident are dealing with it differently. Tar is still trying to contact Champ, but Cham is with Chereen, who might have been the one who called the ambulance. She’s also asking for help from Champ and his politician dad, but he doesn’t commit to anything. It also looks like Champ may not know anything about the card that Tar received, but he could just be bluffing. He’s still defiant when Jade and Kamin finally get to talk with him and Chereen again, but at least Jade and Kamin confirm that it was indeed Chereen who called the ambulance.

And then we get the reveal that Tar is a serial date rapist? Jesus Christ, why didn’t the friend group say anything? Also, Jade, your brother is friends with these people. What the hell are you doing with your brother, dude? Champ tells Jade and Kamin all of this, and I guess he thought it would be a tit-for-tat situation and would get him off the suspect list, but Jade and Kamin are at least honest enough to tell him that that isn’t going to be that case.

With the new information they have, the two head to Drink Me, the bar where they raided that drug dealer the last time. He’s understandably anxious, so to relieve himself of that, he agrees to drug and rape someone. My goodness. Or at least that’s what I thought it was. Turns out, his friend just got him a sex worker, but the deal isn’t immediately consummated as she has to run off to find a condom since Tar — typical for a rapist — doesn’t have one.

Tar’s now alone in some other part of Drink Me, giving someone the opportunity to attack him. His screams can’t be heard over the sound of the partying, so nobody else but the killer hears him admit to raping Fai, the girl who died in the first episode. And I gotta admit, this scene got me genuinely interested in the show’s plot! Because honestly, I was just watching this for the potential JoongDunk sexytimes happening down the line, but maybe there’s something more on offer here.

Jade and Kamin are back at Drink Me to look for Tar, and while they don’t initially find him, the sex worker does and they check it out when she starts screaming. It really took her that long to find a condom? Again, haven’t been to a lot of bars in Thailand, but the few I went to had condoms in the restrooms. Also, it was funny seeing Jade checking if Tar has a pulse when Tar’s got a metal thingie jutting out of his bloodied chest. What are we doing, Jade?

The two of them split up to talk to different people at the club. Kamin is talking to…Jay? Sorry, not familiar with all the side character faces just yet. Jade and his hard, hard nipples and tattoo is talking with the sex worker.

Jade and his hard, hard nipples do ask the right questions. Why did it take the sex worker so long to get condoms? Turns out her friend didn’t have any, so she had to get out of the club to buy some. Kamin double check the sex worker’s story and it looks like she’s telling the truth, and there isn’t any CCTV footage to show who did it.

With no other leads, the two of them call it a day. Jade’s supposed to drive Kamin home, but while he does that, he also convinces Kamin to pack his bags because he’s going to take him somewhere else. Is it going to be a room where there are no others?

Unfortunately, it is not a room where there are no others, but Jade’s home. A pretty nice home, actually. How much do Thai policemen get paid? We also find out that Kamin was paying ฿180,000 or more than P300,000 for the room he was staying at in the fancy hotel. Again, how much do Thai policemen get paid? Oh also, the guy Kamin was talking with at the club isn’t Jay, because Jay is here and the two guys look nothing alike.

The next morning, Jade has breakfast ready, wearing only a towel. He then takes off the towel in front of Kamin to show…that he’s wearing shorts underneath. Kamin is stressed and wants to move out, but Jade says he can’t do that because he hasn’t even signed a rental agreement yet. I don’t know how Human Resources is just letting all of this happen. Being at Jade’s house does give Kamin the opportunity to question Jay, and they find out that only Champ and Tar are regulars at Drink Me. And considering Tar is killed for raping Fai, who is Champ’s girlfriend, it’s starting to look like maybe Champ is someone they should talk to again. Oh and it was Tonkla, another one from the friend group, who was there at the bar

Back at the university where the central friend group is studying, they start talking about the case, since now there are two people dead. Tonkla slips up and reveals that he was at Drink Me the night Tar was killed, so now he’s looking pretty suspicious, even to his friends. We then find out that he’s gotten the same letter as Tar, as well as the same photo where the central friend group’s faces have been crossed out, along with a letter that is accusing him of knowing what they did and not speaking up about it because he’s been bought.

Jade and Kamin discover the same photo at Tar’s house when they go there to investigate, although they don’t find a similar letter. Obviously, Jade is worried about his little brother, but Jay is a little shit and isn’t cooperating with his older brother. I mean, maybe you should start getting comfortable being an only son, Jade!

We also get a little scene at the end where they get a little flirty with each other as they bicker over Jade laundering Kamin’s clothers, with Jade deploying the line that ~everything~ of Kamin’s will be handled with care. But what if Kamin wants his hole destroyed, Jade?
