Ron Watches Semantic Error Episode 8

I know, it’s yet another month-long break between episodes, but at least this one is the finale. In the previous episode, Sangwoo finally gave in, giving Jaeyeong a two-week trial run. Unfortunately, Jaeyeong might need to go to France.

Sangwoo and Jaeyeong are walking at school, and Jaeyeong’s asking Sangwoo if he has anything to ask him. Jaeyeong then tells Sangwoo that he’s willing to reject the offer from France for him, and if I was Sangwoo I would pull down Jaeyeong’s pants right there in public and suck his soul out of his body through his dick, but of course, I am not Sangwoo. I think Sangwoo’s doing that thing of pushing the guy away because he’s already resigned to the fact that Jaeyeong is going to leave him so he’s trying to make it hurt less.

Later that day, Jaeyeong is celebrating his possible departure to France, but Jaeyeong is trying to temper their expectations. One of his friends also tells him that the company she works for is interested in Sangwoo’s game, but only because Jaeyeong worked on it. If he leaves it unfinished or has somebody else take over, the company isn’t going to get the game. Jaeyeong would be leaving Sangwoo high and dry in more ways than one.

Jaeyeong’s Girl BFF then tells him that she’s told Sangwoo about his exes, as well as the fact that Jaeyeong treats Sangwoo differently than his exes. Jaeyeon’s also frustrated at Sangwoo being emotional now, when all Sangwoo’s done in the past is, I quote, “treat people like products”. But that doesn’t stop him from wanting to look for Sangwoo and ask him what it is he wants to ask him. Girl BFF nopes out and tells Jaeyeong that it’s just natural for people in love to act cringe. It comes with the territory.

Jaeyeong does take one thing that Girl BFF told him to heart: Be like the Jaeyeong she knows. He heads on over to Sangwoo’s place and tells him to go out and meet him outside, where he has food for Sangwoo to celebrate his birthday. Jaeyeong tells Sangwoo that he’s not going to France because Sangwoo told him he needs him. And then Jaeyeong tells Sangwoo that his heart is telling him that he needs Sangwoo too. This MALICIOUS GAY FAGGOTRY needs to stop!

Sangwoo, of course, doesn’t respond in the way one would think. He asks Jaeyeong if he really thinks he’d be happy to be the reason Jaeyeong isn’t going to France, and Jaeyeong counters by asking what Sangwoo’s heart is telling him. Tellingly, Sangwoo doesn’t care what his heart is saying.

That’s because Sangwoo’s heart might be saying “Please stay, Jaeyeong.” It’s clear enough from Sangwoo’s actions the day after, as he walks around school, either almost in tears or just looking at a French guidebook. He then runs into Jaeyeong back at their apartments, and it looks like Jaeyeong has decided to go to France, because Sangwoo hasn’t told him otherwise. And even now, Sangwoo can’t make himself tell Jaeyeong to stay.

Sangwoo then meets up with Jihye, or maybe it’s the other way around? Jihye finally gets her chance to confess her feelings to Sangwoo, and even better(?), she’s telling him this, knowing she’ll be rejected. And despite being rejected, Jihye still does Sangwoo a solid by telling him that he’s changed for the better since the time they first met, because love really does change a man. Jihye was Rose Landry before Rose Landry showed up on Crave.

Sangwoo’s emboldened even further when he goes back home and finds prospective tenants knocking on Jaeyeong’s apartment door, but Jaeyeong isn’t there. Girl BFF then tells him that Jaeyeong’s also cleared out the art room, and now Sangwoo is zooming on his bike to get to Jaeyeong.

He finds Jaeyeong at a park — I thought it would be the airport, but I guess the budget didn’t allow for that. He then does that spectacular romance novel trope of listing what he doesn’t like about Jaeyeong but all of those fading away because he likes Jaeyeong. He tells Jaeyeong “I like you, hyung”, and you just know Jaeyeong is going to dick him down good for using hyung. Jaeyeong then tells him that they should be lovers, and unfortunately, the first thing that comes to mind is “Ilya, that’s gross.”

After a chaste K-drama kiss, Jaeyeong then reveals that he’s sent the gaming company in France the designs for the game he and Sangwoo are making, and the reason he’s still going to France is that he’s going to see if the gaming company is willing to also hire Sangwoo. They act all cute on the couch, and then you think it’s the end because the credits roll, but it’s a good thing I stuck around because there’s a little epilogue, where Jaeyeong finds out that Sangwoo’s been taking hot pictures of him, which somehow leads to Jaeyeong on top of Sangwoo. Cute! Jaeyeong should have at least put the tip in, but I understand this is a K-drama from years ago, so this is as good as we’re going to get!

If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
