Okay, I still haven’t gotten the schedule down for this down, and It think I’m once again super late this time around? Anyway, let’s get into this new episode!

The previous episode saw Creatine Price be the first to go home this season. As the girls go back to the Werk Room, I thought that they would find out who Creatine has given the Golden Baguette to. Alas, it’ll be later on in the show, I think.

It’s the Golden Baguette the queens are talking about as soon as they get to the Werk Room the next day, with Margarette in particular offering the unique perspective of not wanting the Golden Baguette because she’s bad at making decisions. And wouldn’t you know it, Creatine gave her the Golden Baguette. Life certainly has a way of giving you what you don’t want. Also we find out Sublyme has dentures? How old is she again?

Luckily, Nicky walks in before the other queens pry those dentures out of Sublyme’s mouth, and she tells the queens that today’s mini challenge will have them going to the bakery. Unfortunately, it isn’t a daytime drag situation because the queens are just going to play a sack race and see who’s the first one to get a baguette. Here I was thinking we’d do something like season three from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Sublyme wins the mini challenge, and here we get one of the things I do not like about Drag Race France. I wish the mini challenges had more impact. Or at least have an actual prize for the queens. At least let Sublyme determine the order of the talent show or something. The talent show is this episode’s Maxi Challenge.

The queens prepare for the talent show, and Malawitte is a little nervous as there will be a designer on the judging panel and the talent that she’s showcasing is sewing. Another queen who’s nervous about the show is Holly White, as it looks like she injured her hand during the mini challenge much more seriously than initially thought. Lana, on the other hand, is emotional not because she has doubts about her talent, but because it’s her tribute to her dad, whom she now feels close to after a period of being estranged. It’s a story that resonates with Sublyme, who has an almost similar story, but unfortunately for her, her dad passed away. Holly White also shares her own issues with her father, and fathers really do fuck up their gay kids, don’t they?

And then we get Daisy crying about still feeling lonely despite being in this competition with this queens and can I just say? I love how both Drag Race France and Drag Race España highlight emotional moments. But this is way too much emotion way too early? Is it just me?

Daisy’s emotions, however, seem to have been brought about by Lana. But it doesn’t even result in a fight so it was a non-starter.

We finally start the talent show and Margarette is up first with a comedy act. Or at least it starts out as a comedy act before it turns into a comedy lip sync. I thought it was cute and it made me smile and reminded me of La Grande Dame’s performance in RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World!

Lana is up with a rock and roll burlesque that was also fun, although it kinda ran out of steam for me near the end. It also doesn’t help that Azémylia’s jump split had me looking like the panel of judges

Malawitte is up next and…well. It’s no Rajah O’ Hara, lemme say that. I do kinda feel bad for her because it looks like she’s a cis girl who won’t be going far in the competition. La Harpie follows her and I think her talent was only better because Malawitte’s was so disappointing.

Sublyme and Fluffy Bidule are the next to perform, and between the two of them, it was Fluffy that was more interesting. She made me want to rewatch Amélie! Holly White was…well. She was no Katya. Daisy actually does a funny routine but I did not expect that much skin exposed. I am becoming a prude in my old age!

We then move to the runway, with this week’s theme being Intergalactic, and Holly starts off strong with a Frieza outfit. Sublyme and Malawitte looked good too, but I thought Azémylia’s Darth Vader reinterpretation was better. Margarette’s outfit was not it, especially when compared with Fluffy’s stunning ensemble.

Daisy, La Harpie, and Lana Cotta make up the last stretch of the runway segment, and between the three of them, It’s La Harpie who stands out. I thought that La Harpie’s outfit was just good, but her reveal of that extra pair of arms really brought that look up to the stratosphere.

Margarette, La Harpie, Daisy, Malawitte, Holly White, and Azémylia are the top and bottom queens this week, and I can already see the Malawitte and Holly White lip sync over the horizon. Meanwhile, it looks like Azémylia and Daisy are in the top two.

Once the queens are back in the Werk Room as the judges deliberate, Holly, Malawitte, and La Harpie all plead their cases to Margarette, while also joking that they’ll pay more for the Golden Baguette than they would at a bakery. Margarette finds it difficult to make a choice and I don’t blame her.

Daisy wins the talent show and actually wins money! €1,500 from a carpet company. Good on her! I wonder how they tax this in France? Margarette then awards the Golden Baguette to La Harpie, bringing about the Malawitte and Holly White lip sync. And it’s a meh lip sync. I’d have sent them both home. But only one of them needs to and this episode it’s Malawitte. Now, who will she award the Golden Bagutte to?
