Ron Watches Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 6

It’s been a busy few days, but I’m getting back to this! I won’t write anything about getting back on track, because I do that every time, and guess what? I never get back on track.

At the end of the previous episode, the Kagemori complex was being attacked by Daemons who weren’t under the control of the Kagemoris. And as this new episode starts, Yuru is finding out that his skill with a bow and arrow isn’t going to do any damage to these Daemons. Gabby isn’t doing any better either, as she is also stuck in her room with another group of Daemons that aren’t controlled by the Kagemoris as well. Things do start to look up when she’s told that it’s okay to go berserk on these Daemons. And there are a lot of Daemons.

While things are starting to look up for Gabby, it’s a different situation for Yuru and Asa, who are transported somewhere after the two Daemons chasing them do a fusion thing or whatever to form a yin and yang symbol. Asa is trapped in a place of total darkness, and she does not like it. She can’t be alone in the dark, and the show insinuates that it was because of the isolation imposed on her growing up in the village. Right’s with her in the darkness, though, and we find out that Right can neutralize Asa’s Break ability, while Left can neutralize Yuru’s still dormant Seal ability.

If Asa is trapped in total darkness, Yuru and Left are in a place of total light. Everything’s white, and I can imagine it would be hard to find your footing in a location like this. But Yuru can feel a floor, and Left encountered a ceiling when she flew. So it’s not eternity in white light — there are boundaries to this location they’re in. Yuru chooses to spend his time inside practicing his aim…which is bad, for some reason. Is this story-related or is it just for comedy?

Meanwhile, Asa isn’t practicing anything, but is instead getting her and Right out of the creature. We also learn a little bit of in-universe lore when she uses her blood to break the contract between the Yin and Yang Daemon with its original master, and instead binds it to her. First order of business is getting Yuru and Left outside of the Daemon, followed by finding its previous owner, who Yuru quickly shoots in the shoulder with an arrow.

Elsewhere in the compound, Jin is also clearing the place of the enemy-controlled Daemons. Together with Gabby, Yuru, Akio, and Haruo, they rid the place of the invaders. We also find out that they’re a hastily put-together team, so does that mean they’re people Dera caleed? Also, the characters here are killing people. Definitely not the same ethos as the Elric Brothers!

The group interrogates the members of the intruders who are still alive, and it looks like they’re no people Dera put together? This team also does not treat their Daemons well, and Gabby almost decapitates a ho because of this. So there’s some backstory there! And we’re also left with shocking information: Asa’s already died once before, after being killed by a Higashi Village assassin.
