The past week has been really busy for me, work-wise, so I have not been able to catch my shows on time. But I’m here now!
At the end of the last episode, Dawn and Akeria are tied for first place in their particular bracket. However, as can be clearly seen as soon as they go back into the Werk Room, that doesn’t last for long. Lucky gives Morphine her point, Morphine gives Lucky her point, and then everyone is thrown for a loop when Morgan gives her point to Akeria. Then Mystique also gives her point to Akeria, so now Akeria is way ahead. At least Morgan acknowledges that she may have just shot herself in the foot there.
In the Werk Room the next day, the group discusses Morgan and Mystique’s actions, and Mystique spices things up by saying that it was disappointing that Lucky and Morphine didn’t give Akeria their points as well. She then goes in on Lucky for her “pity points” way of dishing out points, and I’m like…why are you antagonizing everyone, Mystique? You’re going to need points from them later on!
I’ll see how that turns out later on — since everybody else in the world has already seen this episode — since Ru has just entered the Werk Room to tell the queens that they’ll be monster presenters hawking stuff on the Home Spooky Network. Akeria is going to be a mummy, Dawn’s a werewolf, Lucky’s going to be a vampire, Morgan’s a ghost, Morphine’s a zombie, and Mystique is Frankenstein’s monster. And they’ll work in pairs! So now Mystique is paired with Lucky, the queen she’s just antagonized.
Whether it’s because of the previous disagreement or just Mystique micromanaging, she and Lucky just aren’t gelling well at all. Morgan and Akeria are faring better, although Morgan does feel like she fucked up her chances with the points by giving one to Akeria. Morphine and Dawn also look like they’ll do okay, so it really is Mystique and Lucky that are probably going to flop in this challenge.
Dawn and Morphine are up first and…well. They were onscreen! Meanwhile, Mystique and Lucky had that little tension that made it a little more interesting than Dawn and Morphine’s. Especially with that kosher thing. I cackled! Morgan and Akeria? Well, they’re not known for their improvisational skills, now are they?
The day after, the queens are talking points, because it’s the last episode for their bracket. Morgan and Dawn agree that the queen with the least amount of points hold the power, since whoever wants to make it to the merge needs to suck up to them. And two queens who will not be giving each other points are Lucky and Mystique, because they are just not getting along now like they did during episode one.
The queens finally walk the runway to the theme of Paris, France, and I thought Morphine, Lucky, and Morgan did really well with their outfits. As for their live selling segments, I guess I just don’t have the sense of humor of the judges because I didn’t find most of them funny? But the judges did, and their opinion is what matters, really. And their opinion is that Dawn and Morgan are the top two queens of this episode. The two of them lip sync and while I thought Morgan won it, it wasn’t a total demolition of Dawn like Morphine did with “Body”, so I guess I can also accept this Dawn win.
Now, we get to the MVQ point distribution. Morgan takes an early lead with Akeria and Lucky’s points, and Morphine changes that by giving her point to Dawn. But Mystique forces Ru to make a choice when she gives her point to Akeria, tying her with Morgan. And then Ru picks Akeria!
