I’m on time this time! Let’s get into it!

At the end of the previous episode, not only did the guys defeat Tenaga-Ashinaga, but they also found out that Asuna has been tailing them with his little butterflies. What’s going to happen now?

We’re back at the Kagemori compound, and Asuma and his Daemon Asagiri are aware that they’ve been found out, but at least they know where Dera’s hideout is now. Now they can retrieve the body’s of their dead. But was it also a Kagemori who wielded Tenaga-Ashinaga?

Apparently, we’re going to find that out this episode, because Yuru’s deduced where Tenaga-Ashinaga’s wielder is hiding: right under Dera’s house (?) Daemon. The wielder is just a kid — who is named Tadera Ken. AND HE’S LOOKING FOR HIS DAD.

Is Dera his dad? He doesn’t remember sleeping with an Ethiopian woman, since Ken’s mom is Ehtiopian. But it’s cleared up soon enough. Dera is Tadera Ryu, and Ken’s dad is Tadera Roei. AND TADERA ROEI IS TADERA RYU’S DAD. They’re brothers!

More importantly for Yuru, Ken also knows about his parents Mina and Nagisa. It was his dad who taught them how to escape Higashi Village’s barrier, and the granny points out that if that’s the case, the Higashi Village peeps might think of the Taderas as spies. I wonder how that’s going to be used again in the story moving forward. There’s also some discussion about how contracts between Daemons and their wielders can be dissolved without the master dying, and that will definitely be brought up again in a future episode.

Ken now tells his story, and Hiromu Arakawa definitely likes herself some deadbeat dads because it is yet another father who has abandoned his child. Ken freed Tenaga-Ashinaga once his mom died because he thought he needed to be powerful to survive, but Tenaga-Ashinaga ended up not following him, even if he was their master. So he trapped them in the Lost House so they wouldn’t harm people in the real world. He doesn’t know where his dad is, and he doesn’t know where Yuru’s parents are either. And now he’ll be living with Dera, Hana, and Yuru as well. A growing family! And a rich family, because apparently Ken is loaded!
