Ron Does Stuff

Life just hasn’t been cooperating the past few days, you know? I actually forgot that this show aired last Sunday, which is why this is arriving late. Let’s just get right into it!

Higashi village found itself under attack at the end of the previous episode, with the assassin Ivan Yosano sneaking in via the shaman Dera visited in the previous episode. Is Higashi village just going to be a ghost town now?

We find out at the start of the episode that the shaman was being tailed on the way to Higashi village, even before Ivan ~entered~ him. Or more precisely, made a pocket dimension shaped like his torso, where Ivan stayed so the shaman could take him to the village, with the shaman none the wiser.

Another person who is none the wiser about what’s happening in Higashi village is Yuru, who continues to make arrows with Ken. Dera bought a television set to distract Yuru for the meantime, which maybe isn’t the best idea because Yuru really needs to know that Ivan is cutting up Higashi village right now. Is there going to be anybody left in the village by the time Yuru returns?

Yuru’s fake sister definitely won’t be at the village, that’s for sure, as Ivan has taken her with him. Danji also won’t be there, as his mom has told him to leave the village and look for Yuru in the outside world. Luckily, Oshirasama gives Danji a lift, so he won’t have to grapple with the modern world’s transportation system. I mean, it’s in Japan, so it’ll at least be bearable. Try being from centuries past and then being plopped into Manila traffic. Now that would have been terrifying.

After successfully acquiring Yuru’s fake sister and a child hostage from Higashi village, Ivan dispatches the shaman and leaves a bloody note on the shaman’s torso telling Yuru to meet up with him if he wants his fake sister and child hostage to live. So far, Hana’s been the only one to see this, so will she tell Yuru about this? Or will she hide this information from him?

Turns out she will hide the information from him, something she decides on at the end of the episode. I wonder how this decision will bite her in the ass down the line.
