Ron Watches Drag Race España Season 6 Episode 3

Alex Marteen became the show’s first elimination after the previous episode. Who’s going home next? Let’s find out!

The queens are back in the Werk Room, and I know it’s supposed to be a sad time because Alex Marteen got sent home, but I laughed at Liz Dust saying she felt like she just dropped an 11-pound turd. Or at least, that’s what the subtitles said. Spanish speakers, did she really say that?

After discussing Alex’s departure, the queens talk about their always shifting fortunes, as the two top queens — Liz and Maitetxu — found themselves in the bottom, and Joan won the challenge. The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills!

I thought it was going to be your usual opening billboard for the show but then we get shirtless Javier Calvo?

The next day, Liak and Maitetxu say they’ve mostly smoothed things between them, but let’s see if any of that is up in this episode. You never know! The rest of the queens definitely don’t think it’s sincere.

Supremme ends whatever discussion they might have had about the topic as she tells them that this episode’s mini challenge is guessing the price of memorabilia that they’ve sold to…Yaya? Apparently, she’s an elderly Spanish influencer who actually collects drag memorabilia. I thought it was a jokey joke for the mini challenge, but it looks like it’s true, from her Instagram? I could be wrong! And maybe I am wrong because, as the game goes on, it does look like it’s all just a jokey joke. But Yaya being a drag fan isn’t!

Buba wins the mini challenge and €500, as well as the advantage of assigning roles in this episode’s Maxi Challenge, which is an acting challenge. And now, Marcus gets to be part of the episode storyline since she’s fighting over the male role with Vanessa and Maitetxu. I’m on Marcus’ side here. Every season, all of you are avoiding the male roles, but now that there’s a drag king, you want to be men? In the end, Buba gives the roles to Maitetxu, and I’m ambivalent about it. Let’s see how things turn out.

They start shooting the acting challenge, and thanks to Kim Miller, we find out that this season was shot while Los Javis were divorcing. Liz, Kim, and Maitetxu are the first to shoot, and it looks like Maitetxu may have made the wrong decision fighting for that male role because he keeps forgetting his lines. Joan also looks like she’s going to be in the bottom again.

The next day, as they start preparing for the runway, Liak shares how, as a child, his mom was very strict on him about sticking to gender roles, and that when he finally came out, he experienced bullying so extreme that the road his family’s house was on was called the Fag Trail. It’s heartbreaking, but at the same time, I think this is being shared now because Liak is going to be the second queen sent home.

We get the runway before the acting challenge this episode, and this time the theme is Garden of Earthly Delights. And by Garden of Earthly Delights, they mean the painting by Hieronymus Bosch!

See, they never do things like this on main Drag Race. The outfits I liked were Vanessa’s, Marcus’, Alma’s, Coco’s, and Liak’s. Now about Liz’s…outfit. I think this is the second time we’ve seen full cock and balls on Drag Race España? I remember Satin Greco doing it on the premiere episode of Drag Race España Season 5.

As for the acting challenge itself, I thought Alma and Sorny were funny, or at least the jokes translated even to someone who doesn’t speak Spanish and doesn’t know the references. Sorny, Buba, Vanessa, Maitetxu, and Marcus are declared safe, so it really does look like this is the episode where Liak goes home. It always happens when you’re asked to share your life story! Or maybe Joan is going home, because I honestly forgot about her and only remembered when the queens started talking about the critiques in the Werk Room.

When the queens go back to the Main Stage, Alma is declared the winner, while Liak and Joan are the bottom queens, after all the queens except Sorny ~condemn~ Joan to the bottom two. I couldn’t figure out which one was winning in the lip sync until the latter part of it, when Liak finally pulled through. Joan goes home, which I really think should have happened in episode one.
